Prazipro is 1 teaspoon per 20 gallons. Single treatment lasts 5-7 days. Metro is 1 level measure per 10 gallons. Use the spoon that is in with the metro.
Ok thank you. Is there nothing that oral Prazi would treat that oral Metro wouldn't? I'm sure there was a reason I started doing this years ago... haha! ;) Usually I use Prazi in the water in my QT, but I've used the oral dosage for affected fish in a reef with good results. I know some people will treat their reef with Prazi, but I'm not keen on that.
I do have Levamisole on hand too that I could mix in with some food.
Prazi does a decent job on internal worms, I just feel metro does it better. Prazi's main strength is eradicating Monogeneans, but you would have to build up such a high concentration of the drug in the fish's system because Monogeneans live on the outside. ;) That's why it's better/easier to just treat the water when dealing with flukes.
I'm not a big fan of both Levamisole & Fenbendazole because a) I question their effectiveness b) I feel they are a lot harsher on fish than prazi & metro.
Have you tried oral dosing Furan or KanaPlex or any oral dosing at all? I don't notice much talk about oral dosing MO fish, mostly food fish. Why is this?
One last thing, I was trying to look up your profile on various forums, and couldn't come across much information. You're called "Dr. Fish" here, do you have a PhD in a related science?
I have no doctorate, and I'm not an actual doctor. I just play one on the Internet. :)
