Check this guy out. I got him at RAP Orlando. I offered him mysis, shrimp, fish eggs, flake. Nothing.... so I stopped trying since he was looking good. I found him today doing this....eating an astrea star!

I saw another person post this same activity almost a year ago. I have 1000s of those little guys maybe I could get lucky and try an orange star finally.

i thought i read not to long ago, that it was confirmed that they do NOT actually eat them. The Asterina will walk away unharmed after the linkia is done sucking on it. Just an issue of being at the wrong place at the wrong time, making a great photo op.

Makes sense and wonder if we will ever figure out what they truly eat.

I have a chocolate chip star that absolutely eats asterina stars. It is my sump monster and it keeps my sump completely void of asterinas. Every once in a while if I see an asterina in there, its getting eaten by the choco star. Its belly gets all ejected and it dissolves the asterina right up against the glass. Kind of gross. I should get a picture one day.

I saw the other post about a year ago also. The star actually did eat the asterina, the owner took pictures of the entire process, including the orange dissolving it and walking away after with no trace left of the asterina. Maybe we are one step closer to fully figuring these guys out!!
