I know this is an old thread but I have the 72" orbit ic pro on a 165g and my montipora is about 16 to 18" down light set at 5" above water and hes struggling a bit. Still open and doing good but getting more lr to get him higher up but my hammers, acans, tube nem, long tentacle nem, mini carpet, zoas, ricordias, blastomussas, gsp, featherduster, and others are all thriving and doing great!! So they're not a bad light at all. Especially when you can accompany the light with their powerheads and pump. Which I have the pump and it doesn't amazing as well super quiet. You can also get the bluetooth adapter to control with your phone.

I have 2 orbit pros and run 100 blue, 50 white, 20 red, 20 green. My daylight period is 10 hours. I also program 20% rolling clouds just to vary the lighting for the corals. I think they are suitable for softies/lps but i retrofitted 2 T5 bulbs which has allowed me to support sps.

I do also have 2 IC Marine Pro and so far everything in the tank is growing as expected. I hadn’t messed with the settings but I might bring down the white by maybe 20% to see if the colors can be enhanced. Good tip. I’d give another round of thumbs up to Current LEDs, I think LEDs in general are still underestimated.
That is an awesome looking tank there Jet!, how did you manage to get all rock flowers to be in such a good order and all together though?

It seems to be doing good on my 30g aio I did go with reef breeders for my 110.
I do like currents easy to use app and the nice look of them.. just did think it had enough for the depth for the 110

What type of corals are you hoping to keep? Just asking because I have an Orbit IC fixture, and am currently trying to sell it since it won't support my SPS. Just a heads up to save you some $$$ and potential headache down the road...

Hello,

I’m sorry I totally disagree and these lights will not be a disappointment. These will grow sps and yes you have to place them higher with the ic loop version. But for his size tank, they are way more than he needs. My orbit marine pros, are actually more powerful than the glorified radions and hydros etc. they will absolutely grow any sps, and they have for me in my 240 gallon tank.
With the ic marine yes, I would not suggest a tank larger than a 90, and definitely not taller than 18 inches, but yes they will grow sps. They will grow softies and lps also.
In terms of use it the lights, make sure red and green are at zero. I would do 100 blues and maybe 50 or less depending on corals. I use the m3 setting but I have the much higher powered marine pros the 4117.
You can control the time frame right from the Bluetooth device on your phone and set everything up. If your using the remote, it gives you different pre set settings to select from.

I was providing my 2 cents based on my experiences. My Current Orbit IC cost me about 200 dollars and didn't provide the PAR required to keep everything I was looking for. He could spend an additional 70 dollars and get 1 AI Prime, or get a second Orbit fixture, which I assume would then be about the same price as the single Prime without the controllability of the Prime. I purchased a Maxima clam which died under the IC because of lack of PAR. Only offering advice that would allow him to keep a greater variety of life in his tank.

Hello,

I’m sorry not trying to cause waves but the lights didn’t kill your maximus clam, something else was off. My tank is 34 inches tall, and my clam is a maximus and 24 inches down and is getting blasted. My blues are 100% and brights at 28%, and running 8 hour light periods I was running 12. Yes I have the much more powerful version, but the lights have been proven. They are much more reliable then radions and ai prime hydros. Not to mention the Customer service is exceptional compared to others. Ike and Brandon at current will bend over backwards for anyone. They have better warranties and they are actually affordable. Funny thing is, they don’t have shadow after and all leds are still made in China. The wattage and ratios between the prime and current is like comparing a tv to a 8 track deck. They have no reference as they way they are set up is much different, and just because it has 900 watts of power, big deal. A light can be just as powerful with 150 watts if it’s more efficient.
I will also add, that I lost a lot of coral but not because of my lights, but because I moved to a new home and had to start over. The move was harsh and my tank has made a come back. But again it has not changed with the lights, new sps are doing fine. It did take me sometime to get my tank stable again, it’s been pretty upset since the move. But has made much improvement.

I just got the Current USA Orbit Marine IC Pro's 48-60's with the wave pump, bought them from a guy pretty cheap. He only had them three months, showed me the receipt. Thing is, I can't factory reset them with the remote, can't set the time, can't set the cycle, nothing but adjust the colors. If anyone could help me with this before I bash them and go back to T5's, I would be deeply in your debt. And by bash I mean start comparing them to other lights.

Well I have them but I have the Bluetooth with them on my 30g I do have the remote but don't use it because I have the Bluetooth. The remote does look confusing. I do know they have great customer service and like vetteguy said they have lots of instructions on the site.
If you did get them cheap maybe the Bluetooth would be a good buy I think its 99.00 on their site

Hello;

Lol I’m a pro with these lights :). If I have my manuals I will photo them for you. (I have the high powered marine orbit pros (much do credence than yours), but I use the blue tooth and all the wave makers and the remote is the same. (Your remote won’t work on my lights), but will everything else.
If you look at my pic you must press enter resume each time (aka hours and minutes s etc), if not it won’t change. Set clock push the set clock button change to whatever time then hit enter resume, etc for minutes. Make sure the lock botton below isn’t on. You can also take the battery out of the remote, and unplug the lights etc wait ten min ish and there you go.

I have the remote from the first picture. It's all good, I just bought the bluetooth controller. Mine are the high powered ones. I figured out what was wrong with the remote. This might help others troubleshoot it. If you take the camera to your phone and set it to take pictures, point the remote at the camera and look at your screen and look for a red light when you push the buttons. No red light, the connection for the button to the board is screwed. You have to purchase a new remote. Instead of doing that, I just went ahead and bought the bluetooth controller. My set time, set cycle, and reset buttons were screwed. Doesn't matter though, I wanted the app controller anyways so......all good. I have them running one light on the back and one light on the front with a current usa six bulb ho t5 in the center. Tank looks great.
