I have a large system but I keep my CBB in my QT for months. They eat well and clear the aiptasia from my QT system.
I got tangs too. Now I have Purple, PB, Yellow(In my refugium/sump) Desjardini, Convict. In addition to this I have a nasty 3 inches Domino damsel in my DT.
I also feed pellets only when I am travel.

So your CBB’s are eating pellets then right? Also, did you use an acclimation box or anything special when introducing the CBB’s to the tank with tangs?

No they don't eat pellets. There is a huge amount of aiptasia and a lot of fauna that they hunt. They are really great hunter, clean all the worms and feather duster first then they go after the pods. Of then with one peck they pull the amphipod out of crevice paralyzed or almost immobilized/disabled. Another peck and they swallow the prey.
Mine don't take any dry food but always full even if I did not feed any frozen food that day.

Thank you. I have plenty of aiptasia and tons of amphipods and mysid shrimp. So maybe I might give one a try in my 180 gallon tank.

I was in Houston for a very quick business yesterday. Not very long but long enough to visit one of the LFS.
A friend of mine, Andy, the owner of Fishland let me have this pair of wild caught Ocellaris at cost which is 28.00. That is for both.
I really dislike deformity, so this pair of perfectly shape fish is great. I love the color also, uniform orange without darden upper body, and very inexpensive. That is triple wins.
Just last week I was about to pay 150 plus shipping for a similar pair. I particularly love the color of this pair.
To each his own. I know that there are many reefers out there thinking that this pair is nothing special. But this is my pair in my tank. :)

I always preferred the plain old regular ocellaris.. the colors are so striking. Almost makes the fish look fake or drawn on

It took me 1/2 day to train these guys to eat flakes. This AM they just bite and spit frozen Mysis, flakes and pellets. I am home today, wait for the Hurricane so I feed them every few hours or so with just a bit of flakes each time. They start to swallow more and more. Now they pretty much agressively bite and swallow almost all the flake. Still spit out occasionally. I think in a day or two, they will eat everything. This is the easiest training of WC fish I ever done.

There was no moonlight last night on my tank. When I got home the tank was pitch black. I have two Haddoni, Rock Flower anemones along with a tiny Gigantea. I did not want them to blundered into the Haddoni and get eaten, so I have to keep the fish room open and turn on the light outside the room, dimmed just so that it is not pitched black. They found the Gigantea in the night and was in it by the morning.
I love this pair. I hope they will not darken up, but a friend of mine said they will. I sure hope not.
This evening, full stomach after eating all the flakes I gave them. I have to feed and get the Gigantea to grow a bit faster.

He does have very inexpensive fish, reasonably healthy. He treated me even more special and never sell to me at the price he sold to everybody else. I don't think anybody, who are not able to buy direct from the wholesaler, can get a WC Ocellaris clown fish for 14.00 like he let me pay. It must be his cost, without shipping.
He got his Badboy in his shop right now if you are interested. For 299.99

My female CBB back to full health. Her tail is almost back to normal. They are making visible decrease in aiptasia. They are very full everyday. I think they will grow fast. Will see.

Healing gash on the side. King of the tank is actually the Purple tang but the Powder Blue is the meanest to smaller tangs, especially the Convict Tang. This was a deep gash from last week. The brown spots are actually on the glass. I ordered an attachment for my Tiger Shark float to clean these harder algae from the glass. Come tomorrow. Then I can take better pictures.
I start to really Rehap my DT from. Oblivion after the slow Covid crash

I'm with you on preferring WC occelaris look. We get into this to keep a slice of ocean life, so why would we keep something that doesn't look like what is found in the ocean? It doesn't make sense to me.

My CBB pair is doing great in DT, leaving room in my QT for new adventure. I ham and haw about getting CB Regal for almost a year before I decided to spend a buck load of money for this pair from Biota. S/MD in size which is 1 inch. I spend a bit more money becasue I think I can raise 1 inch fish much easier then 1/2 inch Regal angels. So far they are doing well, but Bella spend her second night (she was in the acclimation box the first night) riding overflow and ended up in the sump. Her mate to be retreated into the rock for the night. They are so small that she just fit right between the teeth of the overflow box.
Here are views from both side of both. They have misbars but hopefully will straight out as they grow. I don't like excessive funky misbars too much. Mild unique marks are great IMO.

Bella in the sump. I put a light on it for her and squirt food into it for her. She should get plenty to eat there, I think. Beau in the QT main tank
It is an adventure. I was having a heart attack and stroke at the same time yesterday when I could not find Bella.
