I've been having some issues with my atlantik v2.1 so I reached out to Orphek about the problem. I was informed from Scott Rich at Orphek that there is, what they call a 3 hour bug.

[private message removed and summarized by a moderator]
Scott responded by saying that there's a "3hr bug" in the software that causes issues for any ramp up that takes over 3 hours. He suggested that it doesn't affect ramp up times of less than 3 hours or schedules that do not use a ramp up. He also suggested that longer ramp ups could be broken into shorter time periods in order to avoid the bug.
[end of summary]

I must say that the Atlantik series lights are incredibly nice and offer spread unlike any other LED. But its very disheartening that they won't fix this.

I'm looking for anyone else who's had this issue to voice your thoughts here. I would appreciate it if this thread could stick to the topic. I know a lot of people like to voice their opinions about LED's as well as specific makes.

Thank you.

This bug was brought to the attention of Orphek back in December of 2014
After many emails with the owner this issue was found.
We still wait for some sort of resolution to this matter as we are unable to fully control the fixtures as desired.

Do you know if it just an issue with atlantik v2? I have the v1 and thinking of upgrading the software to be controllable with the iOS.

Agree that atlantik is a great light (power and spread)

I believe it will be with all fixtures as they all use the same code.

I wouldn't recommend upgrading too soon. They said the new fixtures would be iOS compatible, but on their site, under the specs of the V3 it only says android. I asked Scott about this as well and he didn't respond.

I don't see what the big deal is. Just shorten the ramp time. It's not like ramping over 3+ hours is going to yield better results.

The deal is user control of the fixture as the OP has stated.
Also do you run the Orphek fixture? If you do then you will understand

If anyone wants to reach out directly to the company here are a few emails.

Ophir - Who I believe is the owner: [email protected]
Scott - Good luck with this one, the guy only seems to respond when its convenient for him: [email protected]
James - I believe is a tech guy: [email protected]

Great light, but this company lacks big time with customer service.

I don't, but have strongly considered it on my current build. Scott has been a good friend and has really turned that company around. I respect him immensely!

If the bug was detrimental I might have a problem. But this bug is so minor I just don't see the issue. In know way will this bug cause a problem for your livestock.

Orphek has some of the best equipment I have ever owned.
If you ever want to know anything about it please ask away.
But it is true that there needs some work done on the code end to make this more user programmable :-)

Hmmm. I must not be ramping for a period over three hours. I have not experienced any issues, other than not being able to sync both fixtures to my router. I can sync one, but have to leave the other as "WIFI Socket", and change my WIFI connection on my android tablet to effect change to both fixtures. Scott replaced the card on one fixture, but it did not help. I'm optimistically hoping it's some IP issue/setting in my router that I'm ignorant of. I have tried everything, repeatedly. (Sorry if this is off topic)

I don't think the Orphek forum is on R2R anymore, is it?
