Plumbing my Bean animal.....I know its the norm to put the main drain gate valve right under the overflow (on the straight)
Would I be creating any issues if I have my gate valve (past the first down straight) after the first 90? my tank is close to the wall and having the valve under the display would give much easier access.....vs having the gate valve on the side of the tank
I dont think Ive seen this done before, so maybe there is a reason.....?

I've seen tank plumbing done as you suggest. Can't remember if it was because they were having problems though for the posting. Pretty common for sponges, algae, snails to get down into those drain pipes and interrupt the flow a bit. Even on my straight run with gate it happens.
