Painting behind tank?

We re-painted our living room and unless anyone has tricks up their sleeve, I’m thinking the old paint is going to stay behind the tank until we sell the house or I leave the hobby…

That's a good enough plan! Just take pictures od the label of the new paint color as you'll most definitely forget it


On another note, those drain hoses have me worried as they aren't on straight. They're just asking to pop off and ruin your day

Thanks. Yes, I thought the same exact thing about the drain pipes when I went to take the photo. I didn’t remember them being like that, but I haven’t looked at them closely in 5+ years. Never had a leak… debating whether I should mess with them or leave well enough alone at this point.

I would most certainly address it.

Just shut off the return line and when the water has settled pull some slack and try to straighten the hose on the barb and tighten those clips. Maybe add a 2nd one to each hose as a safety for the future. Just takes one major leak to change the 5 years with no issue stats and potentially cause a fire (all of your electrical appears to be in that area too)

You'll feel better knowing it's been adjusted for sure.

My luck in this hobby is it would go out about 3 or 4 days after I noticed OR when I'm out of town with the wife at home. So I hope it saves you from my luck hahah.
