I'm currently running 6 bulb t5 over a sump less 40 breeder

I've had some good success with sps in my last tank this tank was set up to keep my toe in water and collect sps frags I wanted while I am in process of house hunting or buying inlaws house where I'm currently living !

I had same issue in my last tank but thought it was because of the LEDs I was running now I'm running t5 still have pale sps the color is there infect the color is pretty good IMO just pale not the deep rich coloration I see u pros pulling

I've been dialing in my alk which was low at 6.8 but was slowly bumped up to 7.8 where I'm hoping it stays ATM it is stable

I am running ecobak in a CPR nano tumbler

Any insite on pale corals not bleached but pale

Perhaps your Ecobak have stripped available nutrients out of the water bringing to ULN. Is your NO3 & PO4 undetectable?

Hi it's a tek fixture using API bulbs and is on the hugest setting so it's set farthest away from water as possible on the fixtures legs

How long is your photoperiod? If it's longer than 8-9 hours that's most likely your main issue.

How high is the fixture from the water level? When I ran a 40b I had to keep my fixture a min. 8" above. (Ati 6x39w)

Without knowing all the water paramenters of your water it is hard to determine what is happening. It could be the lighting is to intense or the corals are reacting to the water being out of balance. It sounds that you have been feeding them enough. Remember that most corals receive most of there energy from the proper spectrum lighting we provide them. That makes me think your phos. level or nitrate level may be the cause.

im just about in the same boat as you. I have a 6 bulb 48" T5 (icecap reef illuminations i believe) on legs sitting probably 4" from the water. All my bulbs are ATI, 4 blue+, 1 purp+, 1 aqua blue special. pretty much every pink/red acro i have is bleached and a green milli i have about half way looks somewhat bleech too. Also many lps that i have on the sand get bleach easily. I recently changed my lighting to 2 Blue+ from 9-1 and the other four bulbs from 12-5. then moon leds from 5-6, maybe this will help. have you tried something similar to that?

I think I read somewhere that when you feed your sps to much, they no longer are dependent on getting nutrients from the symbiotic algae. This will cause there to be less of the algae present, and an appearance of faded colors. Try knocking back feeding to one to two times a week and see if that helps.
