Lets see the gyre set up! Unless you didn't actually spend the holiday working on the system.

I haven’t started on that yet, I’m slackin. The glass for my back panel came in last week and looks pretty nice but the holes for the returns were off by 1/2”, so I’m waiting for another one.

I sent back an old mp60 that needed service and was goi g to get a free replacement of the wet side and needed to buy a power supply, but ended up replacing it with a new one for a great price. I love Ecotech

You have to wait for an entire new sheet of glass again?

I really like my ecotech stuff as well. I want to get two more xr30s but trying to find some used gen 3 or gen 4's to save a few bucks. Hard to come buy!

I did. They forgot to factor in removing g 1/4” off the outside so the I could glue it inside the silicon edge inside the tank too.

Almost forgot, I downgraded Mobius on one of my xr30 pro I bought used back when I ordered the tank. It killed it so I’m sending that back to ecotech now. Bummer because it was working fine before. Disassembling it from the Aquatic Life fixture is pretty tedious with all the tiny screws but it must be done.

Not going to lie, defiantly sounds like you have had a long waiting game and it is just teasing you sitting in the living room.

Some tasks must be done even if it takes forever and you have to use jewelers tools haha.

It will be worth the wait. And more time for stuff to grow. It will be an instant reef with all those large colonies

The silver lining is that the new tank excitement is over and I will be able to take my time with aquascaping. I tend to do all of it a day and regret later not taking my time and letting the design marinate for a few days or weeks before adding coral. I want to add the colonies a little at a time so that I can play around with the flow and see if the rock structures need adjusting. I’m going to do my best to not use too much rock.

This thing is pretty sweet!

I received the 2nd try at the cover for the back panel today - still too tight of a fit. So rather than have them send a new one, I took it to a local glass shop and they ran it through a grinding and polishing machine. I had it glued in a couple of hours later. I also found the mp60 to hold tight to the back glass now that it’s 1-1/8” thick!

Finished with the back! Now to button up the last few pieces of plumbing and the pieces on the back of the stand to conceal the wires and stuff behind the tank. I received the xr30 Pro back from Ecotech so I need to get that installed back in the Aquatic Life fixture. They had to replace the whole board on it that was fried by trying to downgrade back to ESL from Mobius. They replaced it under warranty even though it is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of warranty. I love Ecotech...

Once I run out of stuff to do on this build, I'm going to move the opening of my wire chase up another 8". I thought that it wouldn't be noticeable there at that height, but it's pretty obvious. Mis-measure on my part I think.

After removing and replacing the end cap several times now on the Aquatic Life fixture to replace or service lights, I found an easy way to hold it in to place while I drop the teeny-tiny screws 14 times and hunt for them. The ole tip tie trick:
