Peppermint ate my pistol

I have 3 peppermint shrimp in my 34 gallon Red Sea. I thought I would try the pistol shrimp goby combo. I had a feeling when I went to the LFS that the shrimp and goby were so small that it may be a problem. I acclimated both and try to get them close to a cave. peppermint shrimp went right for the pistol and tore him up. The goby went into the cave but I don't see him anymore. I think he may have been snatched as well. lesson learned
