I have 3 peppermint shrimp in my 150 and they are eating all of my zoas.. They've started on a new rock that I purchased and I saw one with a snail flipped over and picking it.. I'm trying the bottle method but can't seem to get them. Any better ideas? Any reef safe crabs that might find them tasty?

Try sticking some frozen food in the bottle. They'll go for it...mine always come out of hiding and run right to the food.
Good luck.

Sounds like you have camel shrimp, which look very similar to peppermints, but are not coral safe.

A hawkfish would take care of them, but if you QT fish properly, that wouldn't be a quick fix. Maybe try a fish trap? You already are trying a fish trap. My bad; I read too quickly.

There are some fish that eat shrimps I thought....so 1 down, that means you are doing good...what method?

If there is no luck, there is a way that wipes out all shrimps or inverts in your tank :-)

Will hawkfish kill my crabs and snails too?

Some will; some won't. The snails are more likely to be eaten than the crabs, but how big a risk would depend on the hawk species and individual fish's temperament. I personally wouldn't add a hawk if you're attached to your inverts.

Your crabs may kill your snails for reasons of fun, food, and shell.

Got the second shrimp today. So anyone who sees this and wonders if they're the only one that's taking so long to catch it, don't worry. Just keep trying.

Agreed, I don't think they are totally lps safe. I have one that picks on my Duncan. They will also destroy Feather Dusters, learned that one the hard way.
