I’m so glad you’re doing this. Not many people would go out of there way to save two sick fishy souls. I would consider trying to keep them until they’re too large for your tank. It’ll take a while and in the meantime you can enjoy them. They grow fairly slow. Maybe you’ll be able to get a bigger tank by the time they start getting cramped.

I love your yellow tang... his torn up fins give him so much personality. I’d call him Spunky!

I think I would do the Triple Sulfa for now, if you can find Furan-2 locally, you can add that in as well. Just keep an eye on ammonia, these are both pretty strong antibiotics and could impact the biofilter.

If you have to do an emergency water change you’ll have to re-dose according to the volume you’ve removed.

With everything I ordered I completely forgot that I do have the furan2

Ok, I’m thinking you should be able to use Prime to help combat ammonia when using these two together... Hopefully, have confirmation here soon for you!

Edit. I was able to confirm, you can use Prime to help with ammonia as long as there is no copper present.

@4FordFamily has advised that he adds bio-spira continually when using NFG (which would be similar to using these two medications together) so that’s what he recommends.

Also suggested if you do use Prime instead, to dose daily rather than every other day as the label suggests.

Hopefully, that helps! Keep us posted!

Just got home and getting ready to dose the meds. Should I continue to feed the metro+focus while using the antibiotics?

I was just able to get a slightly better pic of her. I compared it to the pic from Friday and it looks like her body has improved but her face has gotten a little worse

Yes, it’s fine to continue feeding along side the antibiotics

A lot of that is HLLE, but the really red area below her eye is what I’m worried about. That’s a pretty significant infection. The bath probably slowed it down, but I really don’t think you should wait to do the antibiotics at this point. Especially if her breathing is rapid, that’s a sign of distress.

She hasn't been interested in the nori yet but she's activity eating the pe mysis. @SDK has some Grindal Worms on the way to me also. I'll keep you posted

When it comes time for the second prazi dose, try to time it for ~ 10-12 hours before a scheduled water change if possible. Mixing Prazi with antibiotics can be really hard on the oxygen content in the water, so want to only run it for as long as absolutely needed.

As long as she’s eating, especially since you are adding the selcon in there too. Once you get the infection cleared up, she will likely have a better appetite.

Is the part I have circled the infection?

When my quarantine tanks empty in 2-3 weeks I need to visit the local petco. This is cool. I hate even looking in those tanks sometimes.
Just don't pay full price! We can't let them turn a profit on sick fish. Maybe if they sell enough of them to us for less than they paid they may decide to revamp their care procedures
