pH on a steady decline, why?

Tank is only a month old hope she's not out of calibration already. I did just wiped down the probes though to see if that helps
Some pH probe's can take a couple of months to break in. I'd consider checking the calibration...

Just ordered a bunch of calibration buffer and a new CO2 monitor just in case. I got to solve the mystery, unsolved problems drive me insane lol

I’ve seen this trend in my tanks before. Trending both up and down. It seems to correlate with indoor CO2 or photosynthesis in the tank. Since you are already on the path to look at CO2, consider photosynthesis of algae and corals.

When I deep clean the tank of all algae, pH is lower and then trends up over a week or ten days. Similarly when I stripped phosphate and nitrate too low, it trended in the opposite direction probably because algae and corals were unhappy.

So does the photosynthesis raise pH? I already run cheeto refugium when the main tank lights are off

Yeah. Photosynthesis uses available CO2 in the water and raises pH.

My corals are pretty happy little guys even my acro full polyp extension pretty much 24/7. When the lights turn off before second phase of lights turn on for a few hours all my corals close up like they just died but slowly open back up when the second phase of moon light turns on. I just like trying to chase for perfection in my tank, always looking for ways to give my corals and fish a little bit more happy and growth/ color potential

I actually just added an air stone to my sump yesterday to bring the pH up some during the night when photosynthesis stops since I don't have an alternate schedule for my sump lighting and DT lighting.

Adding aeration can help off gas some of the CO2 that can build up during the night.

That's not a bad idea, did you just add it to your sump? What was the results of the before and after of that?

I added it to the sump. So far, today my pH has been higher in the peaks and higher in the valleys than the previous couple of days. I'm considering turning it off during the day and seeing if it stabilizes more. Higher valleys, lower peaks.

Sorry just read your first comment again and noticed you said where you put it lol it's new years eve and you can probably guess what my glass is full with. Sorry for making you repeat your self. Keep me updated with what the results are over a week I'll jump on the bandwagon if your results provide some reasonable changes! Happy New Year's

I don't know if this is considered high but it's about 400ppm of CO2 in my house

400ppm is considered good. But another thread on this sub-forum leads me to question the device itself.

I mean when I breathe on it it goes up to 4k. So it's definitely measuring CO2 but I did buy a more reputable one that's coming in this week a Temtop. The pm2.5 and pm10 are definitely wrong on this meter probably trying to guess what pm numbers are based on CO2 levels and possibly TVOC? But still questioning that as well. I'm an electrical/software engineer by trade I should crack it open and expose the truth lol

If I dosed kalk I would stop doing alk red sea? What would be the difference?
You can do both if you like. I am doing Kalk at night and Alk during the day.. I just got some Sodium hydroxide and likely will start doing some experimenting. That AFR is kinda appealing with only one doser though.
