I was chatting to a guy in a local marine store about par.he mentioned the photone app as being pretty accurate so I thought I'd give it a try on my normal 23k spectrum
The results if they are to be believed were very low at water surface.i switched to the 15k spectrum & got much higher results.this confuses me as I thought the main power in the led90 came from the blues where 80w of power goes?
This has left me thoroughly confused despite calibrating the app.
Has anyone had similar experiences?

I've added 15k/20k/23k par readings with the app to illustrate

Forgot to add-led90 is on standard mount 8 inches above rsr170.
Surely this can't be right?

I prefer the bluer look of the 23k.the SPS at top are encrusting & colours are good but I'll certainly go whiter if par drop is that high.it seems a believable reading for the 15k(271) but 68 par on 23k can't be accurate surely?

No I meant the full spectrum setting in the Photone app.

Even if you are using a bluer spectrum
There’s gonna be some white light and other colors that im
Guessing the app isn’t picking up because you have it set for blue?

Also, here’s another thread on the app where they go into all the details of it. It’s 17 pages
Interesting read.having read through & followed instructions to the letter it does confirm that the bulk of led90 par comes from the whites as I suspected initially.i knew lower Kelvin gave higher par but that's really dramatic!
