Planning a UNS R90 Build

Seeing more people use the Reef Factory Smart Roller vs the RedSea-250 Reef Mat. Any insight?

Hi
I also ordered a R90, would you be able to tell me what are the dimension of the retun section of the sump. Thanks

thanks so much for looking into this for me. UNS tanks are the best looking tanks out there... by far. like they say, you get what you pay for.

Plumbed the Sicce 7 and Elite 150-INT today. The skimmer is a surgical fit—it barely made it in. If you’re doing this build, save yourself the headache and get the 150-SSS for the extra wiggle room.

AP9X goes up tomorrow, but I hit a snag with the IceCap 2K gyres. My glass is 15mm and the 2K specs claim 15.7mm, but the magnets are sliding like crazy. Prob upgrading to the 4K solely for the beefier magnets.

Actually the glass is 12mm and the IceCap 2K gyres say they can do 12.7mm.

Congrats! Nice setup!

I’m setting R150 and ordered my lids froM toplids.com

They do have them for R90 and you can get your way configured feeders and light mounts and etc

Yeah, that’s my plan, gotta figure out everything that’s gonna be permanent on it before I order something custom

Apex installed on the back and looks great. Also picked up the Aqua Ultraviolet, now I need to get some silicone piping for it

@UNS_Brandon @UNS_Parker

How do I modify the return line? I can't seem to figure anything out. I've taken the loc-line-ish part into the local stores, and they don't have anything. Trying to come up with a Y to dual random flow generators by VCA like @Reefer_NYC did. Neptune seems to have an older version which has a 25mm slip on their 45 return, but this one seems to be glued in and not universal.

Hey @JCarrow, the fittings are not standard loc-line fittings. You will need the VCA Adapter kit to convert it.

That piece in the pictures isn't glued into the 45 degree elbow, but it may be tight.
Awesome! With a little bit more elbow grease, I was able to get it out. It was tight because the return line wasn't sitting dead center coming through the chamber and was just putting some pressure on the fitting. I already ordered a different VCA kit last week, so I'll see if that possibly works. Otherwise, I'll be returning it and getting the UNS kit from Buceplant.

For anyone that has the Reef Factory and are looking for filter rollers. Bubble magus Large roller works on the Reef Factory (M) smart roller.

I really wanted to go with the Reef Factory one. I was just worried about it breaking down warranty coverage issues or software issues with it if the company is actually going under. It looks to seem like it has a ton more surface area and would be doing a better job.

The Bubble Magus large filter roll is the same size as the medium reef factory one. When comes time to replace it for a new roll.

Two BRS heaters in a magnet mount, waiting for the reef mat to show up so I could see if there's going to be space to put it in the filter chamber. Thinking of doing the filter chamber because it's going to have an open top so the power cables come out. If I put it in the sump chamber, I would need to dremel out part of the sump lid to give the cables a space to come through.

I would have the heaters in your skimmer chamber on the back wall, but move your protein skimmer towards the front (flip or rotate the lid) so that you have better visibility and acess to the protein skimer.

If you have too many wires in your skimmer chamber, you can pass through some of them through the divider walls and have them emit out of the pump chamber.

Seeing your AP9X power adapter reminded me that I mounted mine (and other large power adapters on the back side (tank rear) so they're out of way.
