Update on my Red Sea Max E260.
I've had diatoms for over a month on rocks and crushed coral, they are cake like heavier on the middle rock between the returns, so I added a small power head to send flow to the middle rock.
I added 2 frags of Zoas and 1 frag of GSP 2 weeks ago, all doing fine until diatoms lightly started to get on them.
Then I started to get this algae on the back glass of tank, looks like short small white hairs.
It has spread all over my rocks some short fuzz like and some longer on edges of rock flowing with water movement. It looks to be a dirty white to brown color on the rock work.
I've used airline tubing to try and suction it and a toothbrush to brush it off. It helps some but then it comes right back.
2 clown fish and 1 royal gramma plus small blue legged hermits and snails in tank.
Snails keep dying off. I do a 10% water change 1x a week.
Water parameters 3 days after last water change are:
API Test Kit - Ph- 8.0, Ammonia- .50, Nitrite- o, Nitrate-0,
Seachem test kit, Phosphate-0.05
Red Sea Foundation Pro Test Kit, Calcium-370, Alkalinity-9.5, Magnesium-1300
Sorry about pic quality, if you enlarge you my be able to see algae on rocks and edges of rock.
Any help with this problem would be Greatly Appreciated!!
