Hanna for Alk, Cal, Mag, Phos, Nitrate. Also use Salifert and Aquaforest to double check Hanna. Salifert for Ph.

This is a GREAT list we are compiling!

I use Hanna for:

Alk
Ph
Nitrate
Phosphate
Salinity

Not the cheapest, but rock solid

I use:

Hanna high range nitrate
Hanna ULR phosphate
DIY alk titration
pH (Orion meter and probe)
temperature via inkbirds (7 of them)
salinity by conductivity meter (old VWR)

I do not intend to measure calcium or magnesium in the near future. With AFR or kalk for alkalinity (I use AFR), if alk is OK, calcium will be OK.
Going to be using AFR for the first time. How are you liking it?

Randy, I use all for reef and kalk and my calcium tends to creep up rather quickly when i keep my alk stable. Do you still hold this belief or has this changed since July 1 2025? I thought it was my Hanna tester but an icp test confirmed i was high(and surprisingly that my hanna was testing pretty accurately) I brought it down and it continues to creep up pretty steadily.

Hanna for:
ALK
ULR Phosphate
High Range Nitrate (have not seen anything above 0ppm for last 2 years)

Salifert for:
Ca
Mg

Neptune Apex for pH.

Taste test for salinity (just seeing if anyone reads this post).

Hanna :
Alk
ULR phosphate
Nitrate high range
CA ( not very often)

Hanna Marine Master:
Calcium
Alkalinity
Nitrate HR
Phosphate ULR
Magnesium
Ammonia
Nitrite ULR

Salifert:
Ca, Alk, Mag just to double check when Hanna results seem off. I've had 2 bad reagents already and these give me a piece of mind.

TM Hydrometer for salinity

Apex for pH and temp
