I started building a plywood and thought I would share.

what are you going to use to make it water tite

my friend and i used plywood to make his 1500 gal tank and 300 gal sump, then we used shower liner and silicone to make it water tite. its been up for 3 yrs now. its in the front of his store.

we put the 1500 gal tank in the wall so only the front has glass sides, back and bottom was plywood

I was wondering the same thing, then I thought, maybe they will cut out the viewing pane once the whole thing is square and sealed tight{but then how will they get the glass through the top with that brace}. Or maybe we are looking at the sump....

Fiberglass at the seams and epoxy paint from aquatic Eco on the tank interior.

No viewing pane. It is a grow out tank for the greenhouse. I have a viewing box to look down with.

I plan to fiberglass the outside corners tomarrow. I have to work this weekend so the painting will have to wait until monday; if the weatherholds. More photos to follow.

isn't the super deep for a growout tank? or are the colony's going in it THAT BIG?

I've been trying to find aquaculture vats to suit my needs but haven't. If I could build them...... :smile:

I plan to installs racks. The depth is for temp. control.
