Hey just a quick question I’m treating for what I think is brook clowns are in a different tank now dt is 15 gallons with 5 other fish no wrasse just inverts and other fish no coral I moved the clowns yesterday when I saw they had a white fur on them which looked like brook but they still ate a lot went to the fish store I dosed ruby rally pro in the dt and put the clowns in a side tank 2.5 g and added formaline cupamine and ruby rally pro recommended dosage they look like they’re doing better no more white mucus and eat more now question how long should I keep treating them for? And what should I keep dosing with cause formaline is pretty expensive since I’m doing 100 percent water changes for the clowns so would I keep doing formaline copper and ruby rally pro or stick to ruby rally and copper only? Feel like it’s a lot of formalin to be in it’s not the strong real formalin but they have been in there for 18 hours getting ready to dump it all out and re dose all the meds just curious on the formaline if I should keep adding that too? Cause I read it’s for hour dips? Also this is one of the nicest clowns I’ve seen so glad he is doing better the blue on him is ridiculed with the brown and white and black here’s a pic IMG_2756.jpeg IMG_2754.jpeg IMG_2755.jpeg

Hoping your fish are doing well. From having the similar situation I’ve read that copper is not the solution for brook. Formalin (37% formaldehyde + 10-15% methanol) in a quick bath or a small amount in an extended stay quarantine is best practice although formalin needs aeration which poses health risks to you, most of which are serious stuff. Ruby rally pro, chloroquine phosphate, and metronidazole are alternate remedies that can aid as well. Brook needs to be starved in the display tank for 6-7 weeks until re adding any fish. Please be cautious of using multiple doses of formalin without proper ppe and ventilation as it can be quite dangerous. Here is the goto article from someone with a vastly larger knowledge than I have. https://humble.fish/community/threads/formalin.19/
