Hey guys, can you give me some thoughts on what might be going on with my nem? It split when I moved the tank last Friday and the split has been angry ever since. it has moved several times, but now looks like this.

Should I pull it before it dies in the tank?

Gosh I don't know. If it split on it's own I might wait it out.On the other hand if it got damaged from the move it may not recover. Hopefully someone else can give you a more definitive answer.

Do not dose cipro to the tank...must be done in a qt.
I would give him.some time. Try to recreate or place him where he was happy before. If he does not perk up then...

It still has color. Personally, I would wait.

Depending on how and where the nem split, a split might ball up for a good bit of time. From my experience, when they do this, it is due to an irregular split, so to speak. The nem is merely protecting it's mouth and innards by balling up. I have had nems do this for a few days while the heal. The fact it is still attached, now poking a few tentacles out to "test the waters, it should recover fine.

Best bet now is to leave it alone, do not agitate it by trying to move it, and monitor the situation. If things do start to go down hill, i.e. it detaches and will not reattach, inverts its guts, tentacles starts to come off, then you will need to intervene. if any of those do happen, just let us know and we can go from there.

Still looks ok. I would wait. Maybe the split and the move just stressed it. Keep an eye on it though just to be safe. Good luck. Hope all is well with your nem.

I watched mine move and tumble around helplessly for over a week and waited for it to be sucked into a powerhead.....

It is a great looking Nem today, and I can’t get it out of the rock it is in, despite trying for days!
