I recently purchased the 24 Inch 150W Metal Halide + 2x24W T5 Aqua Medic Ocean Light
Fixture w/ 150W Reeflex Magnetic Ballast and received it today. I am very happy
with it but I looked at the ballast and it says “The Reef
Flex 150 Cube. Magnetic Ballast for 250w Double Ended Metal Halide Lamps. I’m
not sure if that is a misprint or I was shipped the wrong ballast. I am currently running the Metal
Halide with a Phoenix 14k Bulb that looks more yellow than the blue tint they
are known for. I’m not sure if this is due to the bulb possibly being overdriven
or not.
Did I recieve the wrong ballast? Or is this the case with all of these?
Plus, is the T5 Ballast on this fixture not push out as much color as other ballasts do? I just replaced my AI SOL with this fixture so maybe Im just not used to the instense blue they put out.
