I’ve recently bought a juvenile banded cat shark. This is her third day in the tank and I’ve noticed she has started to get a pink belly, and it’s kind of moving up her sides. I’m not sure if it’s petechia or septicemia. She hasn’t ate yet but that’s normal because she’s in a new tank. The only concerning behavior she’s shown is sometimes she’ll jolt herself on her side for just a second. Not laying on her side or back, she’s kind of just itching her sides it seems. She also picked a corner and has burrowed there, I’ve attached photos of her in that corner and the underneath of her. She has plenty of room and hiding spots and we got rid of our nitrate/nitrite problem before she was put in the tank. The ammonia and ph is alright as well. She seems to be swimming fine at night besides sometimes glass gliding. Is she just getting used to her new home or is she not feeling good??

What kind of sand are you using? I know they’re very sensitive on their bellies and certain sand aggravates it and can cause erythema of the underbelly. As far as eating I’ve had sharks go roughly 5 days without eating but I’ve also been sold a sick shark that was almost emaciated and she was so far gone she wouldn’t eat despite it being in front of her
