Well as title says the fine usps has once again shown the quality of their services. I ordered a Olympus dslr a week ago this past Monday from eBay. It's shipped priority mail and there's been no scans updating information. The office in Glendale California says they have no idea what they done with it and on my end they don't have information on something across the country I'm told. I'm keeping hope it shows up sometime soon. Sorry frustrated and wanted to vent lol. Hopefully everyone has a great day.

Did the seller put any tracking on the package and insurance? I will never send anything through any package service without insurance and tracking.

I used to sell a ton of eBay back in the day. I learned that a person can receive their package (non-tracked) and just say they never received it due to USPS issues. Then you are sitting there for months with an open claim to get some funds back.

Yes he had insurance on it of 50 dollars not full amount of sale and sent tracking number. But it's never shown a update since 1st day of starting shipping it in Glendale. But they say they don't have it and both of us are getting told without it getting scanned again they have no clue as to it's location.

Oops forgot to quote you for above answer. It was shipped last week Wednesday I just am worried about the lack of updating and now they say they have no clue.

:mad:this is the sort of news that really erks me!!!
I have had my own issues with USPS and the main reason I don't use them are for reasons like this one; even if it's the best price but the seller states shipping vis USPS I leave it on the table... just not worth the frustration to me anymore.

Really hope you get your camera Steve!

That sucks man. Yeah $50 dollars of insurance is not even worth adding the insurance on his end lol. If there were no scans, that is bizarre. When he dropped the camera off at the USPS location, it gets scanned immediately and he gets a receipt.

Ask him if he has a receipt. Pretty weird for there to not even be a location scan. Sounds fishy to me at this moment.

USPS automatically puts $50 on it if priority mail.
But anyway, not the OP's problem. Paypal will reimburse.

Went through something similar with USPS last week and their tracking. I made a trade with a user on this forum and the item he sent me arrived fast. The item I sent him showed up 2 days late and the tracking didn't even update until after it had been delivered.

I have never had issues with the USPS priority (knock on wood). They might be late"R" than the 3 days they promise so it might have taken 5 days or so, but not more than that. However, their first class, there is no second class really :-), and the standard mail is horrible.

This package was supposed to be delivered last Monday 09/14/2015 and it is now no where near the destination. I have no clue as the status has been like that for over a week or so

I just get ticked off when I read this " An updated delivery date will be provided when available". It's like "we will let you know when we like"....what the heck!

I am done venting for now! :-)

If I shipping label is created you can get a tracking number without ever actually shipping it. I've always had good luck with USPS. either way PayPal should take care of it, eventually.

I have had USPS lose items for weeks, while I worked with the vendor to get a replacement. Only to have the item eventually show up and have to go through the return process. One week last year this happened to me for three different shipments from three different companies. I will never knowingly choose USPS. They would not even answer the phone at the local post office for days in a row.

Giant ball of suck there.... If he can't prove you received the item, Paypal will back you. Like others though, I've had stuff show up even though the tracking never updated. I think if a scan is missed at one point, the whole system craps out.

I'm happy he's emailed daily and I'm not overly stressed that I can't wait for a bit to see if it shows up. Just so many bad stories about the usps it makes you wonder when's too long to wait lol they told me it's not lost till it's over 21 days that seems too long before opening a claim thru PayPal.

i give it 5 business day, and would file a claim on the next business day...

I find it interesting that the seller wouldn't insure such an expensive package. Did you check the sellers ratings? What exactly does the tracking say? Is it just label created. Just because he went into the store doesn't mean it was dropped off at that time. Also just because the seller is keeping in contact with you doesn't mean that he's not the source of the problem. Scammers will often respond so that people don't think they have been scammed. Don't wait to long to file the paypal claim. It's the sellers fault for not insuring the package.
