Hey guys, first post on here. Starting my 125 mixed reef. Looking for powered recommendations. Looking at 3 options. One gyre xf250 vs 2 gyre xf230's vs 2 mp40's. Any opinions? I kind of like the options for flow with running the 2 gyres. Any opinions?

I didn't like my gyres, lots of design flaws IMO. If you can afford two mp40s, I'd go with that.

I had two XF-130s so syncing wasn't possible. I'm more against the design. The concept is great, but the build quality and customer service were utter garbage. Any mode that wasn't constant, or below 75%, broke rotors. I bought 3 sets before being told by coralvue that the only solution is to buy the ruggedized upgrade. Not to mention disassembly and reassembly are very easy to mess up and lose small pieces. The whole thing was just a headache.

Why make a product with functions that destroy itself? lol

Keep in mind my experience is just one person's and there is probably someone with a similar issue with vortechs...
