I bought this rimless 60G AIO tank about 2 weeks ago and I was just getting ready to fill it last night but I just noticed one of the corners doesn’t sit flushed on the stand. The tank already has a mat glued under it and I’m wondering if adding another mat would be useless. I have a level that says floor, stand, and tank are leveled. What should I do guys? Should I ask for a refund?

Most likely cause is the top board is warped. How long has the stand been assembled? Are there leveling feet on the stand? Is it a veneered pressed particle board or plywood ?
Honestly I have no idea how long the stand has been assembled for. We bought this tank pretty recently and we didn’t even think to ask. This is pretty much the first time I buy a tank and I had no idea to look and see if it sat flushed on the stand. For all i know, the tank and stand may be old. The stand does have little round flat levelers on each corner foot.
I have no idea what kind of wood the stand is.

It appears to me to be particle board that’s veneered. If that is the case underweight leveled out it is going to conform to the tank bottom. If it were mine, I would probably put something flat on top with some considerable weight and adjust that corner up and the warp will probably come out of it with a little bit of time. If they had it preassembled set up in the shop maybe it was on an unleveled floor and it could’ve caused it to take that shape it’s hard to say. I’m 100% certain with water-weight in there and everything it most likely will conform to the tank with a bit of tweaking to level the feet if they are adjustable, if not you would need to hard shim it regardless. I wouldn’t be excited to break it in that way,( I would put something flat on there with a considerable amount of weight and do some adjusting) but it would probably work. The other option is take it back if you don’t want to be a problem solver. But I can almost guarantee you with leveling and the weight of that full tank that gap is going to disappear at some point lol

What exactly would you put on top of the stand to level it out? Another mat or plywood? How would you adjust the corner up?
Some people in another post are telling me to fill the tank and with the weight of the water, the gap will more than likely disappear and that at this point it should be ok. Is this something you would try out? Thank you for being helpful man.

Seems the stand is twisted and that corner is low. did you place your level corner to cover on the stand without the tank on it?

do not fill this tank.

I would fill it and see what it looks like with your eyes and a level.

Can you take a picture of the feet so we can see if they are adjustable or not? Yes, they are not wrong that once you put water and everything in the tank it will no doubt slowly conform. The problem is in stressing the tank while you do that(if I was going to try this, I would probably fill the tank up about a 1/3 or 1/4 full and let it sit for a while) I don’t know how much give is in the stand, it could flatten out rather quickly with very little effort or weight applied. I am not there to judge the rigidity of the Stand build so I cannot give you a direct answer on that. Just by twisting or moving the stand around you would be able to tell how much weight it’s gonna take or pressure to get the twist to come out of it. I would either flip the stand upside down on a good level surface and put like a board across the bottom with something of heavy weight whether you have exercise weights or something heavy to get the stand to readjust. Or you could put something flat like a piece of plyboard or something on top and put a bunch of weight on the top and then adjust that corner up and it will take the warp out of it. If your floor is perfectly level, and the feet are all adjusted at the same height if you slowly started to fill the tank, it might instantly come out of it. You’re gonna have to be the judge of that, if it’s compressed particleboard, there isn’t gonna be a lot of rigidity to it and it will succumb to the weight rather quickly and be a non issue

More than likely, if he did it slowly and let it set, he would probably be fine. I think it will come out of it pretty fast. It’s hard to be an internet doctor without being able to get your hands on it lol

Most likely would be fine but if you bought it brand new I’d return it now and get something that’s not warped.
No reason to fix something that’s supposed to be better imo
Now if it was my old tank from the garage I’d make that 💩 work but it’s new!

Unfortunately right now i’m at work and wont be back home in the evening. This being a 60 gallon tank I also need help moving it around. Im going to troubleshoot the stand and tank later today. I’m a little confused about what you mean when you say to “adjust that corner up.” Do you mean with something heavy on top such as weights, try to push the bad corner up towards the ceiling? As in like push it with my fingers or tap it with a hammer?
The bottom “legs” of the stand are basically little white buttons that seem to be glued on each corner.

I thought maybe they were adjustable feet with a nut you could move in or out of the bottom of the cabinet. But that answers that. You would have to use a hard shim underneath that plastic button. You could try this with the tank still on to see if that takes the gap out.

Hey Marco, so we moved the tank and stand around and we figured out that the floor is actually uneven in that area. The tank and stand are actually level just fine. Can i just add a shim on that one corner to see if it levels out the entire thing? How do shims work, do I need only one in the corner or do i try to add more around the area thats uneven?

You could do a couple things since this cabinet has the plastic buttons on all four corners you could slide the shims directly underneath the side wood as well as the button depending on how big the gap is or how many shim you would need or feel comfortable with (I would probably start on the corner button and then work your way towards the middle of the cabinet both ways putting shims side-by-side until there was no gap left). If you were just going to shim the plastic button I would look into like a hard composite shim that is not going to crack under that single point of pressure. There are also some pretty interesting things out there in all shape sizes colors like furniture levelers they’re just fancy shims (Google “shims”) . You can look around and see what appeals to you . You can buy hard composite shims or wood shims and they're just a type of wedge that you slide in underneath the cabinet to fill the gap. Aesthetically they can be cut off flush painted, covered up with a trim piece, whatever you feel looks best to you. Some of the furniture levelers and stuff might look a little nicer. It just is up to you. If it were my cabinet, I would probably just buy some black composite shims and kris kross two of them( put a dab of superglue between both pieces to hold them together) and put underneath the plastic button and cut them the width of the button and call it a day. You could go as far as to revamping the bottom of the stand and put leveling feet on it too. It’s all up to you, in the end the tank just needs to be flat and supported. Do some googling or search on the site to get a feel and look to how they are used to get comfortable with them. You should be gtg. We would’ve started with this, but you had said that the “floor” was level so we assumed it was the stand, but at any rate I’m glad you got it figured out 😂 happy reefing

Take it back. I hope you have better luck than a customer of mine did when his Fluval just burst if you will They did not back it up. Even if you have to eat it I would not use it. Obviously you are in the position to get leverage since you will be spending more money

If I paid 1200.00 for it I would take it back.
You should at least document and show the photos to place you purchased from and if they say its ok not to worry about it then have the place you bought it from sign off in black and white that they will replace your flooring and tank any any other damage to your house etc if it fails.

His floor is uneven - there is nothing wrong with the tank or stand. :)

Shim the corner of the stand not the tank. That should level the corner.

I would:

1. Take the tank off - and make sure the stand is level as it it is (i.e. prove the stand is the problem. (use one of the large bubble levels)
2. If there are adjustments that can be made to the feet on the stand adjust them until the stand is level. this means across the tank, both front and back and across.
3. If you cannot get the stand level - and it's new - return it for another one. I wouldn't shim it, or fiddle with it because you're always going to wonder
4. Put the tank itself on a level surface (like a floor) and make sure its level.
5. If the tank is not level - return it.

If both are level - your problem should be solved when water is put in - by the weight of the water. If it was smaller I would just suggest putting water in - however, it seems more significant than that

Edit - I did not see the part about the floor being level. As @BeanAnimal stated shims can be problematic. Again the important thing is to make sure also that the corners front to back (left front and right back vice versa) on your floor are level.
