For everyone out there dosing Triton Core7, what method(s) do you use to prevent precipitation when dosing. The recommendation is into a "high flow" area, but I am trying to figure out how high it really needs to be. I currently dose (not core 7) into a koralia nano 240 in my return pump section, which is very small, 12 x 17 x 7 (water height). Obviously my return pump is in there as well so it drops directly on the koralia which then blows it around until its sucked up by my return pump. Do you think that will be sufficient or do I need to put a 500-800 gph powerhead in there? It works fine for BRS soda ash or kalkwasser but this is more concentrated so I don't know. I will not be dosing into my fuge as I am using triton core7 other methods.

Thanks!

That should be fine. I dose mine into the last section of the sump just before the return pump. I also alternate which channel doses. I have 10 minutes between channels to ensure it doesn't precipitate.

So you just dose into still water essentially? I know it's obviously flowing through the sump but you get what I mean. Yes I definitely plan to spread out the channels. Thanks fellow "Big"

That's correct. I have an apex and dose 24x per day for each channel so there isn't much Core going in at once.

I have a small Koralia ph pointing at the dosing lines as well, works well. I also have the dosing lines slightly submerged under water in front of the powerhead with no issues at all. I have a GHL Doser 2 and I dose 12x a day.

Thanks. Do you dose it directly into your return pump or just into the chamber?
I dose just into the chamber ! Iam also dosing 24 times a day , dose total of 17 ml per day

Why do you have the dosing lines submerged?

I’d dose into the highest flow area of your tank that you can.

Limit the amount you dose at any one time as much as possible and if still having issues, consider diluting the core 7 and adjusting dosage as appropriate.

I dose mine straight into the return section, 0.1ml at a time. I am sometimes concerned about it precipitating inside the return pump, but haven’t had an issue yet...

I space dosing apart by 10mins between each solution.

Dosing lines are kept well clear of the water and the sides, the ends of the tubes are cut at a 45 degree angle.

If you don’t see precipitate where they are being doser into, then I doubt you will have an issue. 3a and 3b precipitate immediately if at all

So you don't dose into a powerhead? Why are your dosing tubes cut at 45 degree angle?

For anyone else curious the koralia nano 240gph is sufficient. I split up the doses so am only dosing 2.1ml at a time of each (20 mins apart) several times a day, so unclear whether it would work with larger individual doses, but so far so good.

Why not dose it straight into the baffle before the return section? flow is at its highest there, especially if you can drip it onto the inlet glass divider of the baffle

My flow is actually higher into the koralia. I don't run the 10x tank volume through sump like full triton method recommends.
