So hi all. I have not posted in a long time as I work nights and spend as much time I can with the kids. So here we go...

My tank is overflowing with algae. See pictures for a visual lol. I had a sea hair and nothing I have crabs that eat some but nothing. I do not want to scrub the rocks and kill every else lol. Any suggestions?

How big is the tank? Looks like caulerpa plague. You’ll have to remove as much as possible but if a large enough tank, a foxface may help keep in check.

+1 on caulerpa. It will take you some time to hand pick it out of there but it is possible as it does not cling to the rocks very well in my experience.

You have to be very persistent removing it for a few weeks. A foxface will eat caulerpa but your tank is a bit small for an adult foxface. Sometimes tangs will also eat it but less likely - still not helpful for you tank. If you’ve already tried a sea hare I’m afraid manual removal and maybe a small foxface that you could rehome later may he your best bet.

I did the sea hare and it did not work. So I may try a juvenile fox face.

Small update. I’ve been removing it for a while now but it’s still not going away. Take a look.

Hi. I’m back. Update...
Got a baby hippo tang and it worked. The hippo was on sale and small so when he gets bigger I’ll find him a new home. As for the algae, the hippo tang is working its magic !
