I've been dosing Vodka for over a year now and recently decided stop that and try the Probiotic system-

I'm using 1 vial each of Bioptim & Biodigest every 7 days- Should I resume dosing ethanol? Or will the Bioptim be a sufficient carbon source for the bacteria?

It's my understanding that you shouldn't mix the two, but I have no experience.

Just do the Prodibio as it does have sufficient C and you shouldn't need both. Also keep a close watch not to overdose, especially initially if you have high NO3 or PO4 as you could drop them too rapidly with Prodibio and bleach your corals.

I tried vodka awhile ago and I had great results. Color improvement was minimal. I'm in my 6th week of Prodibio and I am very happy with the results. Here are some pics.

No its not needed for sps tanks but defenatly helps if your wanting the colors but unless you have a good bank account or a small tank it can get spendy. And you can achieve great colors without it.

yea i looked it up, 30 tubes i thinkg was about 50 dollars i could not see really how long those last as it wasnt stated. Does any one know how long 30 tubes will last? and is it worth the extra money to buy the entire reef kit or just the 2 essential ones?

Well if my last estimate was right I think your looking at 30-50 a month on a 100 or so gal tank for my system it was like 300 or more a month lol.But they may have brought price down since then.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
