Proper placement for your new corals!

Hello! One thing I cant seem to find a definitive answer to anywhere (perhaps its just me) is Where should My new corals be placed in my tank? I know being new to the reef is something all of us can relate too. so, Who can help?!

After the Dip, Drip and Acclimation, where should my new corals go.. Currently I have 2 sets of Zoas and one Yuma.... The yuma detached from his coral rubble upon shipment so he is in a glass for the time being... Hopefully he claims one of the rocks within as his new foothold, the Zoas however each are on their own plug and are currently secured to a rather large conch shell. I don't want this to be there permanent home so where would they like to live and what is the best for them. Current and Lighting wise... Please tell me where they will thrive at in my tank.

Drs. Foster & Smith have great info on almost all corals that will tell you everthing about that specific corals requirements.

You'll also find that you may have to move the coral around a bit to find the 'sweet spot'. Good luck!

Thank you guys! Ive read a ton of their stuff and now receive their newsletters. The moving them around is something i will be working on :P I would very much like them to go up and over the arch that bisects the center of my tank. The yuma is so bland in color I think He needs better lighting. He is gorgeous under a blue light tho! :P

What is the best thing to secure them with on the rocks?
ive been using gel locktite super glue

I use any brand of gel glue and it works great.

I use single use gel superglue.

Also if you buy corals from a LFS and you see it's happy there you want to try to match the same settings. Sometimes it's not exact science but the main thing is observe yourself and ask many questions. See what kind of flow the coral is under, what the light setup is and the placement of where the coral was the most happiest and take all this info and try to match it in your tank
