pump questions please answer

ok so i have a diy overflow that i made out of 1 inch pvc pipe that going into my sump! i was wondering what gph pump i should get and what brand! i also didnt know if i should use a bigger or smaller size pvc pipe coming from the pump back into the tank! please answer this i need to know before i go buy a pump today or tommorrow

How big is your display and how big is the sump?

how much higher is the display tank than the sump? measure from the height the pump will be to the top of the display

i have a 55 gallon display with a 20 gallon long sump and the distance from the top of my tank to the floor is about 5 feet

I would recommend a Ehiem 1260 or something similar for your setup.
