so far it's an even split at the 3/8" to 1/2" line, at the least that's pretty interesting.

LOL, I will never understand you chalice nuts. :p The few chalices that we have had have been sold fully encrusted onto the plugs. I wouldn't feel right sending someone a toenail clipping, lol.
Right On!
What is sad is that hobbyist have come to accept the 3/8" to 1/2" as the norm. They have been trained well all because someone wants to make as much $$ as possible from a single coral. Although I am not into the high end chalice game I understand that if someone wants a particular chalice and they pay $$$ that the market dictates for it, but why can't it at least be for a nice size piece?
I prefer the WYSIWYG, but not every vendor should be expected to post photos. The part of vendor photos that I get upset about is the coloration of the piece. If you take photos and post them, also post the lighting being used when the photo is taken. Nothing gets to me more than buying a frag and having it look completely different in my tank because I use 10K and the photo was taken under blues. Sorry, totally off topic.
And what has happened to supporting your local dealer? Then you can see what you're buying.
because the market dictates that demand- for each 3 people who demand a 1/2" or bigger frag, there's that many who are just as happy to buy at a smaller size. So if you're the seller- do you sit on the piece for 3 months or sell it in 3 weeks?
I would disagree that I've been trained by someone who's trying to make $$- I got 'trained' by the people who'd buy out a piece before I got it. Everyone just likes to blame the vendors because they're much easier lightning rods o' hate
I hear every last one of you but personally I have found zero risk in purchasing chalices that were 1/4"... Never once had a problem to be honest.... I think Tabasco said it best!!!!! Wait for a wysiwyg pic if ya don't you might get bummed like these few people did a couple weeks ago.... Being a buyer myself I know it's hard man I lost a few pieces waiting on a pic so what I did was refused to purchase from that said vendor from now on.... Thats my 2..... Like mentioned before it's a 2 way street....
#1 yes all vendors "should" post wysiwyg pics but I don't think it's mandatory...
#2 as a buyer you "should" always ask for a wysiwyg pic before paying....
I mean what's the worse thats gonna happen you don't get the piece, okay so your bummed I get it.... Now say you buy said piece like these people did and there all saying they got ripped off.... I would rather be bummed then feeling ripped off and that's just me.... That's the way I play the game now also.... I will purchase very few pieces with out a colony shot or wysiwyg pic unless it is a vendor I have done business with many times then I know if I have a problem they will take care of it no problem.....;) actually I have dealt with almost every vendor on here for the most part I haven't found a single one that wasn't willing to work with me when I had issues etc....I have got burned by Photoshop queens a couple times but that's okay I don't buy from them no more.....
