I have been fighting these snails in my display and it is going pretty well, last several cleanings i have not seen any.

I am keeping the clams in a shallow bowl with fine sand as suggested and brushing. I keep the sand by alternating some in the container letting it dry out after sitting in very hot tap water.

Hello my clam is not well actually, I scare he will die, first some big snails fall inside the last times and hurt him, No I saw this night this small snails inside of him. Are this pyramid snails or are they just here to clean him because he is not well?

If you have diamond goby (great digger) and red coris wrasse (great eater) they take care of your snails and crabs and worms

Sorry, that clam is looking very bad. I cannot tell in the first two pictures what is going on, but the last picture is not a pyramid snail. Not sure what kind it is though. Could still be a problem.

Clean it off and cross fingers. Best wishes for it.

His tissue and mantle is recessed to the point of dying
It’s a must to inspect daily for presence of these snails

After almost a year long battle with pyramids, I won! It's kinda crazy, because I couldn't remove all the snails in my tank. There was no way I could physically find all of the collonista snails and remove them, so I would go hunting every night for pyramids until I couldn't find them anymore. Then I moved my clams out of the sump and back into the display. Needless to say, future CUC additions will go through a rigorous inspection and QT process.

This Is very interfering! I had a baby ultra maxima clam for a week and a half and found him dead one day about a half inch under the sand bed. I have noticed a bunch of these guys come out at night i mean a bunch. There not as pointed shell as the one in your pics but more rounded! Little tiny white ones, is there any other way to get rid of them other then manually of with a wrasse?
There are many pyramid snails. I see some when I clean the sand in my bucket after tossing the old water out. They don’t attack the clam. I had a beautiful deresa in an old tank I tore down due to moving and it had the snails that prey on clams. They are evil little buggers and very hard to get rid of.
