I have a small bta that was a split of my dad's. It's only about the size of a quarter. It has acted very strange since putting it in my tank. First couple of days it was very deflated and not happy. I honestly thought it was going to die. I kept a close eye on it and over the next couple days it started perking up. The weird thing is it will inflate during the night but deflate when the lights come on. I have fed it one small piece of mysis but didn't want to overwhelm it. Any suggestions? I know some of you are keeping these and they look great.

Probably getting accustomed to your lights. Provide it with a little shade to see if that helps. Also, they love silverside fish and will perk up for those....finely chop the silversides (pieces no larger than a single mysis shrimp) and target feed. It may be necessary to protect it from other tank inhabitants while it eats.
