Hello all,
I have some questions about the daily dosages. We agree that as long as they are not detected during the icp, I have to slightly increase the dosages until I find a quantity that can be detected at the icp?

My second question would be: Do any of you use a cocktail with "daily," mixed with rodi water to use a dosing pump?

Thx

Hi, you dont mix any elements while dosing RM. All elements needs to be dose independently. The daily must of the time is so small that you can do it manually unless you need to constant dose an element that required a large dosing then you use a dose pump. There's a group RM on Facebook that can asnwer all those questions if you are in a hurry.

English is not my native language, I may have had to miss the information

I'll see directly on the Facebook group if they have any other tips, etc. Thanks for your answers.

If you are using the Oceamo ICP-MS, then yes, that is what I would do. If you are using ICP-OES, then you may have enough of some elements without detecting any.

I also have to put in my public service announcement that I do not think it worthwhile to dose barium or rubidium as no known organisms requires those. I am also skeptical of some others, although it is harder to prove a negative on those since there are at least some obscure organisms that use them.

Thanks for your reply. Indeed, after asking my questions about the Facebook group, I got the answers to my questions. Although I don't use exactly the same trace elements, since I'm in Europe and RMS products are difficult to access, I've understood several things about my current manual additions that I need to modify to bring better stability to my aquarium. Thank you all for your answers.

You may also want to check out Captiv8 Reef Blueprint. It is similar to Moonshiners, but the main difference is that you can mix most of the elements together into one "Master Dosing Solution" and put it on a dosing pump.

With Captiv8, you email your ICP report to Chris Wood at Captiv8 and he will email back a spreadsheet telling you how much of each element to include in your solution and how much of what elements should to be dosed "immediately" to bring everything back to his recommended ranges.

If you do use the Captiv8 Reef Blueprint, make sure to use the element solutions that they sell. They can't guarantee the strength or compatibility of solutions that they don't distribute.

The only issue that I have had with this method is that some of the elements can be a little expensive if you are dosing a lot of them.
