I will keep updating this first post with the current status of the tank.

------------------------------------

I ordered a custom tank and I asked for photos of the progress.

This is the 1st I got.

That is great. Love it. Now I cannot wait to see more.

Me too. The guy who's making it is a bit of an artist so he's enthusiastic that he will be able to do something a bit different.

The reason I am upgrading is because I feel sorry for the fish. My original plan was to have a clown harem, but things didn't work out so now I am left with a tank that's not a friendly environment for the existing fish.

They need some space away from all the anemones.

It's doing fine and it's a stunning animal.

I have made this stupid video with her and it went viral with over 500.000 views... go figure.

I never had a sump so my knowledge how they work is very limited but I am trying to plan everything as best as I can.

I got a Jebao DCP-10000 as a return pump and a Jebao CP-150 as the main circulation pump.

I think that 10000 litres/hour of the DCP-10000 is an overkill so I was thinking about using it in pulse mode as a wave maker. Is it a bad idea?

My idea is to put the CP-150 attached to the overflow near the surface.

In the last picture it's possible to see how the tank will fit 3cms below the structure. The idea is to cover the sand line.

I am starting to consider the possibility of making it 4 inches taller... the 140cms/60cms seems to have a more harmonious ratio than the 140cm/50cms. But that would be 20% more water, the tank would become huge.

The height of the stand is 80cms (31.5 inches).

I think you will be disappointed, because I can't change much on what I already have unless I can get rid of all the BTA's.

I need to keep them in an island.

I also need to keep the magnifica by itself. There's another island.

All the other corals will be in a single structure. I will try to make this structure similar to this one so the fish can hide underneath it.

Room underneath to do maintenance. I have always gone at least 34" usually 36".

You would be surprised what a difference it makes taking off a skimmer cup or pulling it out of the sump for cleaning.

It may work for you. Just thought I would mention it.

Looking great. Love that cabinet lock - great first pic. I really like the tank dimensions as well. Lots of possibilities.

This tank will have to accomodate all the animals that I currently have and the requirements of having over 30 anemones in a mixed reef limits the options I have.

I definitely don't want rock anywhere near the glass.

With all these constrains, I can't escape a 3 island layout.

I will try the larger structure with the corals on the left, the sexy magnifica on her pedestal close to the centre and the BTA's island to the right.

What bothers me is that that BTA island will be a no fish land, maybe the banggai cardinals will be in there.
