Tonight, randomly and suddenly, I lost my much preferred "dark theme" for R2R.

I went into my settings and re-selected "dark theme", and problem solved. But while I was there, I noticed a selection for "R2R Fresh Water".

What gives! I keep freshwater tanks, and I'm technically a member at The Planted Tank Forum, but compared to R2R it's "lacking", to say the least, and I don't post there much (or anywhere else).

From time to time, we get new members that sign up and ask questions about freshwater tanks.

I would love a section here at R2R that discusses freshwater tanks..... Am I missing something? Does R2R have a "fresh water version"?

@Cichlid Dad do you have any insight here?

Thanks all!

I feel like maybe the forum made a change? Funny how just tonight - and I've been chatting - the theme changed for me. Then when I went to reset it, I found the "R2R Fresh Water" option.

Thanks, @Cichlid Dad! Your YouTube views went up buy a hit or two recently; great job! Thanks for commenting here :)

I’m a bureaucrat environmental scientist which makes me uniquely qualified to ask questions about habitat designation and I don’t know if there are any freshwater reefs that compare with saltwater “reef” habitat?

Let’s not consider brackish reefs, they don’t have a forum do they?0

Are you "carbon dosing" doing again?

I don't know, but I am recently thinking about a 40 gallon macro/fuge type tank, plumbed to a 150, and I want to keep a pair of Sailfin Mollies in that tank. It's clearly not brackish, but would have some brackish water fish.

Thanks for the reply and input!

Thanks for replying to my question guys!

I guess see what happens, if anything, over the next couple of days or weeks?

Hmmm how close are we to April fools?!?!
Seems we are closer to Black Friday, where I hope to score some good deals lol!

Are you thinking R2R is pranking us?

"Future unclear"
There were several threads about something like it poised earlier.... thoughts were.... mixed.... to put it politely

Haha! Nothing bad! Apologies for the confusion. I recall one or two members not being interested.
BUT would be fun to see depending on how it's approached and how potential separation of the different schools of thought :)
(Plus I have a freshwater tank or two)

I keep freshwater too! I'd love a place like R2R to discus freshwater systems. I get that this is "REEF2REEF", but I for one would like a small, off-topic sub-forum (at the least) to talk about freshwater tanks. Am I the only one?

It would be neat if there was a freshwater section that was completely different than the saltwater. You click a button on the website and it would turn into freshwater themed. This would allow those who don’t like fresh water to not see it and vice versa.

I would love a freshwater section, and unless I'm completely mistaken most people started with fresh water
I can't remember if my parents started with fresh water or not. Probably did since they had their reef tank in the early 2000's

I think one of the reasons R2R does so well is because it focuses on the Reef Tank.
