Having upgraded my tank to a Waterbox 275.6 I saved up and bought two new Radion G6 pros having run 3 10 year old Radions. I am still trying to determine if I can get away with two lights and what settings to have them on. I have set them to 80% today on an Ecotech LPS setting, but I wonder if that is best. I don’t have access to a Par meter. My tank is mainly soft corals but now the new tank has settled I will start to venture into SPS. I lost my 2 branching monti during the switch over but they hanging in there.

Does anyone have any suggestions on settings as I don’t have a par metre.

Tank dimensions.

When I was researching lights last year I ended up at 2 XR30 G6 pros for a 48” tank with a desire for a mixed reef. I don’t recall the exact spread data that I calculated, but just want to add another data point to your decision. If it were me, I’d add another light.

Photo above was reefdudes modified AB+ at peak, run at 40%.

Do you think 80% is enough?
I am the wrong person to ask as I am about 8 months into my reef journey. I took the approach that I wanted to have a lot of flexibility in lighting because I’m still trying to figure out what I want to grow and what conditions those corals will need. I probably went overkill but at least you can get an idea of what the output looks like with the radions placed closer together.

In time you will need a third light. 80% is likely a good place to be. Just watch the corals for a couple weeks and see if they change dramatically
