With your ocd cleaning compulsion don’t think it will ever get “dirty” as we less diligent scrubbers use the word lol

Ha... yes. I'm definitely ocd. I think a lot of reefers are.

Need it to pile up and grow down there so it dont grow up above :)

I just caught my Davinci and Snowflake clowns tied at the bottom laying on the sand bed...

Hmmmm... I've never seen them laying stationary together on the sand like that... possibly mating?

Now that I have the sump enclosed, I have anxiety and feel the need to open it and check on everything constantly. Being a rookie sumper is not helping me sleep at night...

Lost so much color and coral through this period of time. Its bland.

;Drowning;Dead

Finally found a good daycare for Alianna. She goes for a "tryout" day tomorrow. It's a pre-K setup... so I will run through all the parameters and test tomorrow when I can finally breathe. And also some wire management will likely get done.

Finally nice enough weather out to fire up the man oven.

Try having your sump in the basement..... Got to walk a flight of stairs to check it out ;)
At least u have the peace of mind that u have the catch basin and if all else fails u end up with a wet basement floor. I lose a living room in a house I dont own. LoL

It's simply amazing what mother nature can accomplish on her own.

Roughly 3 weeks ago I completed the sump, and moved everything back in. This CB shrimp lost a claw in the commotion.

1 molt later:

2 weeks since last test.

Sg 1.025
Ca 400
Mg. 1550
dKh 7.1
Po4 .21 ;)
No3 45

I did my testing before 10% biweekly water change. I want to see what the tank is doing on it's own over the 2 weeks prior to the WC, and I will test again tomorrow night to see how to WC effected levels. Just for fun. As @Raege would say, geeked out! :)

Dkh and Ca down, but mg didnt move.
Po4 continuing to decline to my pleasure.

The no3 being above 40 would have puzzled me if I didnt have the sand stagnant for about 56 hours during the upgrade.

I will expect to see these numbers for a few months. The sand bed is covered in juvenile spaghetti worms. Only a few here and there that are teenagers, no adults.

So much like my corals, most of the matured polyps couldnt make it, but the next generation and youth pulled through. A good simile to human biology as well I suppose.

That's all for tonight, Game Of Thrones Time! #GoT

See ya tomorrow night for post - WC results.

Nice landscape. I'm thinking of doing something similar with my 130g. How does that gyre work for you in your 125g?

Thanks..

I have 2. Opposing sides.
I'm still playing with them. Not over exaggerating when I say this... with the advanced controller, there is like 12 pages of diagrams and breakdowns of all the modes and customazation you can do with them.

I have a date with @mta_morrow soon to figure out all the ancient secrets he has learned with his over time.

It's always sad to lose something in ur care that's living, even if u took it in knowing the odds were against it.

A reefer I met thru fb that's about a 10 min drive is building a 125, from scratch. And the quarantine regiment she has is something that would make the reef squad shed a tear. She has a fish room, TWO 40bs stacked for QT. One is inverts, other is fish.

I will get a pic and show u. Her medicinal inventory on hand is astounding. Furan2, Ruby reef, metro, kana, GC, prazi, cupramine, copper power, and Chloroquine Phosphate. I was stunned when I saw it all. A true caretaker of fish.

@HotRocks would be proud. She has it all. When you gave me ur advice for antiseptic and antibiotic treatments, I ordered half of it, and lost the battle while waiting. Sigh.

Too bad too, I preferred the purple over the red. The damsels in her QT mauled it the day after the clowns were moved. Sad. The tail was recovering too.
