Randy's Reef Tank

Are you concerned at all about the integrity of this tank, past an initial leak test? A few things give me pause. Age of the tank itself. Temperature swings while in the garage for 8 years. No offense intended of course.
Is this going to be your anemone reef tank?

That’s what I was thinking.

Yes, those things concern me as well, but I'm satisfied with the leak test. It's a very solidly built Oceanic 120. I was mostly concerned that the temp cycles from below zero F to above 120 F might have caused separation between the plastic overflow and the glass due to differential expansion, but it held.

I think it's more likely I'll break it getting it into the house. I think I'll wait for a holiday with multiple younger family members around to do so. It seems a lot heavier than it did years ago. lol

I think I mentioned this in the take down thread, but as an indication of how solid it is, there are four holes in the bottom, 2 in each overflow. I was unable to remove the bulkheads easily with it in place, and in my effort to take the tank down by myself eight years ago, the combination of the weight and my lack of looking like a young Arnold Schwarzenegger led me to end up breaking off all four bulkheads as they hit parts of the stand. But the glass around the holes was fine. :)

Sounds good! I’m very excited for you!

Randy, this tank looks like the one I revived.Ocenic.
Same top brace and dual overflows. I call it Centre Pompideux

Starts adding fish about 10 weeks ago.
Good luck

Is anyone else concerned about the single random ice-skate or is it just me? I feel like I am in a Lifetime movie right now.

One of the 6,371 reason my wife wants me to clean the garage. I’m not even sure who’s skate it is, but none of us have been ice skating in 20 years.
