Halichoeres iridis, uncommon rather than rare, delicate and very beautiful. IMO, the most beautiful of the Halichoeres wrasses. Too bad they are not as common as their looks would suggest. I guess this is becasue they are not as easy to keep aas some other Halichoeres wrasses

Incredible pictures! Isn't #10 a Lenardi instead of a Lineatus?

That Clarion!!!! The Clarion and the Femininus are my dream fish.

Thanks mate! Most of those were taken with my Canon 5D3 and 100mm F2.8L macro lens. Have just updated to a Canon R6 now though, so I am getting and handle on that :)

Both rare to get one AND even rarer to have one that flashes even when not stressed in captivity (I find this to be a well established species when they do flash). My most prized fish I have ever and probably will ever own. £108 ($146.14) Hoplolatilus chlupatyi, almost passing the 3 month mark (26th February will mark 3 months in the tank).

And since their pricing has shot up much more, I will class this as a rarer species (Although they used to be rather common, it seems they’re much harder to find). For £99 I got this at 4”. My second most personable fish, a Siganus magnificus.

And my Submale Genicanthus melanospilos, I say submale since he hasn’t lost his male colours completely so it makes me think these fish are VERY similar to wrasses in which they loose a certain amount of colour without present females. £96 is what I paid, £120 is what he was being sold for.

My thriving Halichoeres iridis female, bought for £45 as a 1” specimen and is now 3.5”.

All three of these fish have been with me for two years if not longer. My chlupatyi has been with me for almost 3 months and I hope to get him past the danger zone of 6 months.
