Recommendations for a PAR meter

When I get into an area I do not have a good understanding of... lighting.... I like to cheat. I buy tools... lol, gadgets! : )

I know that I can almost always find something on the Internet, by species, for the PAR level they thrive at. Right now I have all LED lighting. I can easily add some T5’s. (I am getting my tank ready for SPS dominant) I want some clams...

I am going to buy a PAR meter... it’s gonna happen : ) I don’t want to underspend and end up with junk equipment... but I am not running my own LFS either. I don’t want to overspend. My tank is 26” deep, lots of live rock, 200 gallons

Any thoughts on which one I should get?

I have the MQ-510 and it works great, nice knowing right where to place a coral PAR wise

Seneye works. It is a good PAR meter, out of water monitor, and should you choose later to continue past the first slide, tests ammonia. All in all for 200 bucks it is well worth it. BRStv did a deal on PAR meters and it worked really well.

Just food for thought.

I just bought the MQ 510 last week. Im very pleased. I regret not buying it sooner!

Apogee mq510. A/b’d against the seneye in my own tank, the seneye read much lower at most points.

Fun fact of the day: under a very cloudy day in Florida, PAR reading outside is 100.

The 520 is for led lights. And they now have the me that works with Bluetooth so you can use your phone and it will log numbers for you.
