I recently purchased a 1.5" frag of war coral and since placing it in my tank about two weeks ago, some of the edges have begun to turn white and I haven't seen feeder tentacles recently at all.

Agree too much light. Where you have it may be fine if acclimated slowly to your lighting. Favia do well under low to medium lighting.

I find light issue false as I have a war coral that I bought and placed at the very top of my tank under kessil 360s that are on high. The war coral grows like a weed and have had to cut it back about 3 times in a year so it doesn't grow over my sps. Also did the same thing with a chalice that I have as well same results.

There are a number of factors. Light is an easy one and generally the issue with new corals. You may have a war acclimated to higher light but that does not mean to newer one can take higher light right of the bag. Where it was originally may be very low. And before that place low light. It can take corals weeks to acclimate to different lighting. Bleached edges are generally a sign of too much light. There are other factors but if your other corals are fine it more likely lighting.
