Hello all:
I have three red Mithrax crabs in my tank that were little, peaceful guys when I bought them. They have since grown considerably with the biggest being about 1.5" across with big claws that mean business. He took a liking to my green toadstool leather and promptly chewed it down to the rock. I have to make a daily sacrifice to the crab gods and hand feed him a chunk of reef frenzy to keep him full and away from the corals. Should I banish him to the sump or try to rehome him. Although I didn't catch him red handed, I believe he caught one of my purple firefish and had him for dinner as he hangs upside down on a shelf and hunts from ambush. Anyone else have a sea monster like this in their tank? How do you deal with him?
That's the big goon with a chunk of reef frenzy behind the clown photobomber. The hermits and shrimp are trying to mug him for the reef frenzy.
