This came in on a rock of zoas i got today. Im pretty sure its either an acan or a chalice. But im not sure which, its shape is like a chalice but its mouth is kinda like and acan..im not sure,help me out, pay attention to how it grows over the zoas...

looks like acan but it got that skin growing like chalice... I dont know but if its a chalice I want first dibs on a piece!!lol

Exactly what i thought, looks like an acan but appears to grow nothing like one and the skin is exactly like a chalice....

Im going to try to feed it tonight

looks like a maxima acan. whatever it is it looks pretty sweet. what type of zoas are those?


Didnt think of maxima but arent thos only native to the sea of oman, i think these zoas are aussie or indo. Idk what type of zoas they are,I bought the whole unamed colony

if you look at the skeleton that its' on i would say chalice, since the ribs are lined up in neat rows, acans skeleton is more like a favia type

Could be a super tiny scoly it is about 1/2 by 1/2

Whatever it is, it's sick lookin... The reason I said mushroom is cause in the fist pic the way the mouth is it looks like a mushroom. Does it expand and puff up or does it just expand in diameter?

This is making me more and more anxious to see what it ends up being! I think seeing if/how it eats a piece of brine tonight will help me know what type of coral it is
