So update! Been a few days! I have been helped a lot by seth who has guided me on proper dosage and elements to the tank. I am 24/7 bubble scrubbing the tank. I have cut out my aminos dosing till I can get my tank back on track. I have cut my daily feeding to once a day 1-2 hours before bed.

I am daily/ every other day turkey bastering the rocks. I took a tooth brush to my entire back wall and clean every inch of the tank that had any type of brown algae. I have added miracle mud to the refugium. I still plan on doing water changes but miracle mud isnt hurting anything so why not use it to help the tank.

i have been testing every evening and morning for nitrates and phosphates and after doing all of the steps above, my tank is hovering at a steady .03 for phosphates and 1 for nitrates.

I have also removed the UV sterilizer, and pulled the carbon out. Only going to use the carbon a few times here and there, but not 24/7 anymore.

dosing a capful of waste away a night and .5 ml of vodka. So tank has had quite a bit of changes but all in the right direction!

So did you lick the Dinos or work in progress? Your corals look good and great color, extension. UV helped or not?

Dinos are still a work in progress. I have no clue if the UV sterilizer helped or not, but it also kills good bacteria as well so I was told not to use, not neccessary in beating dinos. Just one less piece of equipment. Thank you! Corals are still growing and holding strong amidst all the crazy dino eradication effort!

What killed them for me was UV (Only 9 watts small flow) and 36hrs lights off (Both display and Fuge)

But let's see what happens on your course. Dinos suck. Good Luck. And not all Dinos are the same.

Yea I have the coralife 9w UV sterilizer. Not going the lights out approach, I don’t wanna take the risk of losing any corals. Paid a pretty penny for a few, so taking a much slower approach. Thanks, these dinos do suck A#%.

Tank is doing well. Finally starting to get nutrients in checks. Nitrates of 1 and Phosphate of .03 seem to be my sweet spot. I feed the fish every other day one time and they are happy and healthy.

miracle mud is kicking in the little refugium. Idk what everyone means by a “mess” It has never been a problem for me and I love it. Tank is feeling more mature and corals are defiantly growing!

Alright so one update that I have is that I switched to ESV Bionic 2 part instead of BRS. I will keep you guys updated with how that goes!

I also didnt like the look of 2 MP10s in my tank when I could just sell them and use a second Mp40 and make it look unison!

I am loving this decision! I love it! Best thing I did.

looking great!

I did want to ask - Im looking at getting a 170 come January, what did you do for your ATO since you turned the stock into the refugium? Is the container just on the side in the second cabinet? I ask as Im trying to get creative with very limited external space available outside the primary Stand/cabinet.

Yes so, the little 1.7 gallon ato will last me about 2-3 days if I were to use. So I decided to use a 5 gallon bucket hooked up to my avast marine ATO. This 5 gallon bucket last a week in the summer and 10-11 days in the winter! I have the bucket in the closet right next to the tank. But if I was really tight on space I could have thrown it in my controller cabinet.

I see many reefers who’s corals encrust then do upward growth but my corals only seem to encrust and no vertical growth. So I have turned down the Mp-40s from an average of 60-70% to 40% max on any speed, let’s see if I can get some vertical growth!
