I'm not sure what forum to post this question in so moderators please move if I'm in the wrong location.

I just received a new Reefer 350. It came with the dual return nozzle and what appears to be updated plumbing on the return line. The barb and tubing included is only 5/8" ID.

I already had a Sicce Syncra SDC 6.0 pump. Unfortunatly this pump only comes with a 1" and 3/4" barb fittings. So, I replaced the Red Sea barb with a 3/4" sch 80 straight barb with male threads and used a 3/4" braided vinyl tubing. It appears that Red Sea was using 3/4" male threads with a 5/8" barb and used an adapter back to their metric plumbing. I may be wrong.

My Question: Will this be okay? This is my first sump set-up so I'm a newbie. Always had AIO's before.

Thank you!

As I understand your issue, I think you will be just fine.

Just to be clear, you are going from bigger at the return pump to smaller at the Red Sea plumbing to the outlets in the tank, right? That should be fine.

I think you should be fine, as long as its the same thread type.
On my reefer 250 I just heated up the stock 5/8" tubing a bit, and with a bit of force was able to fit it onto the 3/4" barb that came with my pump.

Yeah, I was wondering about the threads and worried it might leak even though I used teflon thread tape. The Red Sea barb had tape and an o-ring.

Maybe I'll go back to the 5/8". Thanks!
