Red sea reefer gen 2 leak question

Ive heard the negative stories about red sea tanks leaking and seen a video of one leaking from the bottom seam. Was curious if anyone knew if there were warning signs. My tank is not leaking but it had started to get sand and air bubbles in the bottom seam as shown in the photo. I posted another photo of the same seam with no issues. Im i going to need to prepare for a new tank or is this a normal occurrence?

I believe its just water or cleaning detergent between your glas of the tank and the weight distribution foam. If you want some peace of mind, you can fiddle underneath the glas with a needle to see if it disturbs
The fluïds. This way you know it’s underneath the glas and not in between glas layers. This could damage a part of the distribution foam offcourse

If the Top photo is the current condition of your tanks bottom seal, used or not, warranty or not, I would be contacting Red Sea. Post some additional photos so the group can access the potential problem better.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't risk this tank, and I have a high bar for sketchy tanks

The problem with these Red Sea tanks is that they don't just spring a little leak, and it's a relatively minor thing. Rather, they seem to fail catastrophically, dumping saltwater on your floor, fish flopping everywhere, it's a complete mess, from some of what I've seen online (I've never personally owned a Red Sea tank).

Can you wipe the bottom of your tank so it gets rid of any surface dirt and take a new picture? The first picture looks catastrophic but the second look normal. And the side pane looks filthy on the outside. Give it a clean and take pictures for a clear idea what’s going on.

Can you wipe the bottom of your tank so it gets rid of any surface dirt and take a new picture? The first picture looks catastrophic but the second look normal. And the side pane looks filthy on the outside. Give it a clean and take pictures for a clear idea what’s going on.

The second pic was showing the parts that are unaffected. I believe i am screwed. In the process of trying to buy a new tank or sell out before i lose any livestock. Monitoring my levels with apex and wife works from home to keep an eye on it. I hope if it goes it starts small and just doesnt explode

Look up IBC totes; 275G cut in half fits nicely through a residential door!

This is so sad, but what is worse is how they go about it. Anyone who mentions these on there fb or in their fb groups will be deleted and blocked. I would still support them if they handled these the right way, but they keep denying there’s ever been an issue.

Copy. I agree with an earlier post, this is the worst example I have seen that hasn’t started leaking. Based on videos posted, I’ve only seen them leak and not completely pop, but this tank is going to go quickly. Once the seam fails in an area, that becomes the weakest leak, so water will be happy to exit there, and it relieves the pressure. So it’s unlikely that the bottom will blow out. Which seems like most cases where people are posting videos about failures. That said, there’s no comfort in that, and you need to drain the water out as quickly as you feasibly can.

Disclaimer, I’m not a structural engineer, just an opinion based on having a few tanks blow seams in my lifetime.
