Does anyone have any information on these odd looking brackets at the bottom of these Red Sea RL90 mounting arms? I’ll add a photo of a set of original mounting brackets as well, but when I got these used, they had these other brackets attached that seem odd but seem almost stock to the arm.

Bracket for rimless tanks. Looks like you remove the current part on the arm. phillips screws.
The flat just slides int other "other" bracket and is held by the turn bolts. You can see the glass" notch" in the bracket.
What you think is odd is standard.. Whats attached to the lower arm is the odd piece.
AFAICT..

Not sure what that plate goes to that's on the arm now.

The ones that are currently on are the ones I’m referring to as odd, but yeah the originals are the separate ones that came with it as well. My tank has a rim so I was wondering what the original ones were. Thanks anyways

Rather late now I know. The brackets in the left photo are from the proprietary arm mounting for a Red Sea tank such as the all in one Max series. The Red Sea tanks were drilled and had thread inserts for the large plastic screws that show on the left. So without such a Red Sea tank those brackets are throwaway parts. The bracket in your hand on the right side is Red Sea's "Universal" bracket meant to go on any tank. By the way, if one takes the universal bracket, hacksaw the lip off that prevents the vertical arm from slipping through it so that vertical arm can pass through, add a Velcro strip to replace what was hacksawed off to support the vertical at any selected height... and drill new sets of holes for the right bracket thumb screws up the vertical above and below the factory OEM holes.... Viola! You have a Red Sea arm that can be adjusted up and down for height.

Thanks for the info! Haven’t gotten around to mounting them quite yet lol. But was about to start taking the job on so this info is super handy.

I know this is a old post but did you ever figure it out? I'm having the same issue and can not find the bracket you're holding in your hand. Is there a part number on that bracket?

Hey Paul,
Sorry for the late reply. There’s is a number on them, it is 5828 and then says 1/2 and 2/2, so 5828 1/2, and 5828 2/2. As for what I ended up doing… I’m a welder/fabricator by trade, so I ended up cutting them and custom fabricating them to fit the thicker lip of my tank.
