ya i think a large patch like above would do it. if it was impossible for you to replace with a new one this would be your best bet. If you can find away to just get a new tank...... i would do that!

Sorry Man ,That's not good . Particularly a tank that big ,500+gls? You might be able to patch ,Better to see if someone in your area can replace the bottom. See if you can work the bottom frame off & Please remove that bulk head !

Depending on how old it is. You could see if there is any warranty behind it and maybe the seller can help you with reaching out to Red Sea. If not, you can get a replacement through them but spending money trying to fix it is probably not worth it. Good luck!

Yikes, I can imagine the feeling. Really sorry to see that.

I think what Denisk said is your best advice. Give Red Sea a call, hopefully they’re sympathetic although I think this is unlikely, they may be the best people to advise you what to do. I’m inclined to say whatever other fixes have been offered are not going to be worth the money or trouble, especially because you won’t have the peace of mind, it may be best to cut your losses. Maybe your LFS will give you trade in value for it and you can salvage some of your loss and leave it on someone else to repair.

If the crack starts at the hole and extends to the bottom seam just patch and redrill as suggested. It is hard for me to tell. The hole will stop the spread in one direction, in fact that trick is use to stop a crack from spreading. The seam is as far as it can go in the other direction. The crack will leak but cannot expand under the foregoing. That crack was caused by either over tightening the bulkhead or bumping it when there was a pipe in it.
