Here we go again, another type of algae has showed up in the back portion of some rocks and is also starting to creep over to some coral. It does not blow off, I can cut it just like skin, it is very red and has some bumps on it. Its like a large mat or blanket that just covers the rocks.

Anyone have an idea what this is and how I can stop it from continuing to take over.

Thanks,

Here is a piece I cut out.

i have no idea but keep manually removing it for the time being. do those little nodules in it wash away if you rinse it? are they slimy or hard?

The piece itself is slimy, the small bits look like detritus and they don't blow off.
